Qatar Life & Medical Insurance Company (QLM) has expanded its service network by signing yesterday an agreement with Turkish Hospital Doha. QLM, which is Qatar’s leading Health & Life insurance company with over 200,000 insured members in Qatar and over 420,000 in the region, has expanded the healthcare providing partners.
The agreement aims to provide distinctive quality healthcare services to the company’s clients. Through this agreement enforced from date of its signing, the Turkish Hospital has taken a step forward towards tapping into the wide customer base.
The agreement was signed by Salem Al Mannai, Deputy Group President & CEO of QIC MENA Region ( under which the QLM falls) and Dr Volkan Uygunucarlar, Managing Partner & CEO of Turkish Hospital.
This agreement will provide health insurance beneficiaries with more option and quality health services , said Al Mannai adding "this is part of our commitment to contribute to the health infrastructure in the country, combat monopoly and open equal chances for all health institution operating in Qatar."
In accordance with the health services standards and specifications, Turkish hospital in Doha has all type of treatment and highly sophisticated surgical services making it one of the hospitals providing high class health care and medical services meeting international standards, Al Mannai added.
The hospital is a branch of hospitals existing in Turkey, and at later stages these Turkish branches will be included in the QLM insurance system, said Al Mannai when asked whether the agreement is limited to the Doha based hospital or apply to the other branches in Turkey.

He further added, “By leveraging our provider partnerships,we aspire to exceed the expectations of our insured members with innovative healthcare and awareness programmes that would enhance QLM members access to health care’ experience for being associated with us and to satisfactorily meet our social corporate responsibility.”
Dr Volkan Uygunucarlar, Managing Partner & CEO of Turkish Hospital expressed his happiness to associate with QLM, the largest health insurer of the country saying, “We strongly believe that this collaboration with QLM would encourage better and stronger relationships between our doctors and insured members”.
“Together with QLM,Turkish Hospital will be committed to continuously improve the outcome of this partnership and enhance our patients’ experience," Uygunucarlar added.
The hospital has secured 94% of Qatar government assessment and became the first private hospital to get this grade in Qatar reflecting the quality of its services, said Uygunucarlar.
The 85 bedded first Turkish Hospital had a soft opening on January 17 and was officially inaugurated mid February by Turkish Foreign Minister Mouloud Jawish Ihsanoglu.
