Doha, Qatar: In a step aimed at enhancing animal production in Qatar, the Livestock Research Section of the Agricultural Research Department has launched the first scientific publication on livestock farming.
The book entitled Raising Small Ruminants at Al Sheehaniya Animal Production Research and Station, is a comprehensive guide for enhancing livestock production in Qatar. The publication was launched at the Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition 2025, (AgriteQ).
The book deals with the technical aspects of raising sheep and goats, such as nutrition, reproduction, and health care, and provides recommendations to increase fertility and productivity rates, and reduce mortality rates.
The publication aims to educate livestock farm owners about best field practices, and support efforts to achieve self-sufficiency and food security in the country. It includes important topics such as nutrition, reproduction, and health care.
