Mahaseel marketed 3.5million kg vegetables in local market

Doha: Mahaseel for Marketing and Agri. Services Company (a subsidiary of Hassad) announced today, that it has successfully marketed 3.5 million kg of locally produced vegetables in the Qatari market, during January 2021. This percentage is triple the amount, which was marketed during the same period, last year.

"We are delighted to announce that Mahaseel has tripled the percentage of marketing fresh vegetables in the local market, compared to the same period last year, which shows the company’s success in showcasing the added value of the local produce” stated, Eng. Mohamed Al-Sadah, Hassad CEO.

Al-Sadah also explained that Mahaseel successfully marketed around 19 million kg of vegetables in the local market during 2020. He elaborated that the services Mahaseel provides to the local farmers to motivate them, in order to increase the quantity and enhance the quality of local produce, are in line with Hassad’s investment strategy, which includes supporting and developing projects that contribute in achieving food security for the State of Qatar. 

Currently, Mahaseel markets more than 30 different vegetable variety in the local market, through 95 hypermarkets outlets around the country. Moreover, 350 local farms are currently registered with Mahaseel to benefit from the marketing and agricultural services. 

The company also developed a dedicated mobile application for farmers (whom are registered with Mahaseel), so they can easily access all the services and information, to satisfy their needs.
