Doha: Qatar Tourism’s Visit Qatar mobile application has been nominated for the World Summit Awards (WSA) 2021, Qatar Tourism announced in a tweet.
“#QatarTourism is glad to announce that the Visit Qatar mobile application is shortlisted for the World Summit Awards (WSA) 2021, in the Culture & Tourism category.
The World Summit Awards Shortlist showcases the great innovations that continue to emerge and drive a positive impact in society,” Qatar Tourism posted.
The Visit Qatar App was launched in April last year as part of Qatar Tourisms’s digital transformation strategy. The first-of-its-kind app uses innovative cloud-based Adobe Experience Manager capabilities which harness data to deliver tailored experiences to users.
Designed as a user-centric digital travel companion, the app allows users to discover Qatar’s cultural heritage sites, extensive outdoor sports activities, diverse culinary scene, and unique attractions.
Meanwhile, according to the WSA website, the awards select and promote local digital innovation with a high impact on improving society.
It is also a non-monetary award system with a focus on sustainable knowledge transfer through a worldwide network.
Winners benefit not from a one-time financial reward but a lifelong partnership and integration.
Since its inception in 2003, over 800 winners have been selected from over 4000 nominations.
