Doha: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, carried out inspection campaigns targeting workshops in Umm Salal Muhammed area. The inspection campaigns reported 5 violations that varied between non-compliance with the precautionary measures and using the shop as a residence.

The ministry affirmed, in a statement, that the inspection campaigns come as part of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s efforts to regulate and monitor the markets and the commercial activities across the State of Qatar and to ensure compliance with laws and regulations governing commercial activities in a bid to uncover and crack down on violations, stressing that it will not tolerate any violations of laws and regulations governing commercial activities and the precautionary measures followed and that it will refer everyone who violates laws and ministerial decisions to the competent authorities to take appropriate measures against him in order to protect consumers' rights.

The Ministry urged all merchants and shopkeepers to comply with applicable laws and regulations governing commercial activities, and to review them on its website www.moci.gov.qa to avoid legal accountability and penalties.
