Qatar University has adopted, for the first time, an electronic system for induction meetings for new students in the spring semester 2020, which started yesterday and will continue until January 9 for all colleges.
The Chairman of the Strategic Initiative Committee on the Electronic Induction Program, Dr. Nizam Hindi, said that the online induction meeting aims to develop the educational process at Qatar University by facilitating time and effort for new students, and a seamless transfer of information via a link sent to their e-mail includes videos containing information of interest to them in their university life.
He explained that the introductory meetings focus on clarifying the university’s policies and laws, the most important information and instructions that enable them to enter and use the electronic portal to register the courses for the Spring 2020 semester, as well as getting to know the IT services available at Qatar University to manage their academic affairs and other types of services and student support.
He pointed out that the student is being tested via an electronic link to ensure that he is familiar with the introductory program paragraphs, and that his success in it is a condition to allow him to register the academic subjects for the new academic semester.
He emphasized that the electronic system of induction meeting serves the goals of Qatar University and is compatible with its strategic plan for digital transformation in various aspects of student life, in order to improve the procedures, processes and outputs in various sectors of the university, which is supportive of achieving the vision and mission of the university.
The academic semester of Spring 2020 will begin next Sunday in all collages of the university.
