Doha: The members of the Central Municipal Council (CMC) have praised the great role and the successful preparations of the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) regarding the preparation for the rainy season this year.
Among the members are Mubarak Ferish Mubarak Al Salem, CMC member of Al Gharafa (constituency No 15); Bader bin Sultan Al Rumaihi, CMC member of Madinat Khalifa South (constituency No 4), and Abdullah bin Khaled al Yafei, CMC member of Al Kharaitiyat (constituency No 17).
The members also praised the services department in each of the municipalities such as Doha, Al Rayyan, and Umm Salal, and the speed of response to implement early preparations for removing expected rainwater during this season, in addition to cleaning and maintenance of rainwater drainage networks in all areas.
During a field visit to the concerned authorities, the members found the completion of all measures taken to receive the rainy season, and coordination and great cooperation between all responsible departments in the State.
They also found that most of the places of rainwater accumulation are specific and known previously and are called ‘black points’, where vehicles move to remove water and open streets, before calling or reporting from the people, and there are work teams distributed on all sites throughout the days of the week 24 hours.
The authorities concerned confirmed that all areas are under control according to prior studies of the sites and the amount of rain that falls during this season.
The CMC members affirmed their keenness to communicate with all officials in ministries, and various bodies, to speed up the completion of projects and implement the proposals and requirements of the people.
