DOHA: Best Buddies Qatar, in partnership with Al Rayyan Sports Club, held ‘Festival of Social Sport Integration of People With and Without Intellectual Disabilities and AESN Students.’
Many Best Buddies Qatar members from Shafallah Center for Children with Special Needs and students from other schools were among the participants.
They shared joy playing football, ground hockey, shooting the targets, table tennis, running with obstacles, collecting puzzles, tugging the rope, and distillation challenges, in pairs and groups.
Mohammed Al Beshi, Deputy to the Manager of the Cultural Committee at the club, said, “We are glad to hold this festival with Best Buddies Qatar. I think it is great to match people with and without intellectual disabilities. We hope to develop partnership and hold such events annually.”
The festival culminated with Methker Salem Al Shafi, General Manager of the club, presenting the partnership award to Best Buddies Qatar. Best Buddies Qatar and the club are keen to conclude the agreement on permanent cooperation in terms of holding mutual sport events, festivals, training programmes and international sport holidays.
