DOHA: The Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani will address the 41st session of the Advisory Council at White Palace tomorrow. The Emir’s speech will mark the inauguration of the regular weekly sessions of the Council. The speech will highlight the important achievements of Qatar in the economic, political, cultural and social sectors, locally and internationally. The Emir will also speak about Qatar’s role in international and regional issues and the major issues and challenges facing the Arab world.
Emir sends greetings to UAE president
Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and the Heir Apparent H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani have sent cables of congratulations to the President of the United Arab Emirates H H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the anniversary of his accession to the throne. The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani has also sent a similar cable.
Heir Apparent meets CIA Director
Doha: The Heir Apparent and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Qatari Armed Forces H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met the Director of US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) General David H Petraeus at the Emiri Diwan yesterday. Petraeus is on an official visit to Qatar.
