Doha: National team players Muhammad Tanveer, Sandun Vithanage and vice-captain Mohammed Rizlan warmed up well ahead of the upcoming international event with solid displays at the Qatar Airways (QA) Cricket Tournament at the West Bay Grounds.

The Asian Sub-regional Group A Qualifiers for the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup will be staged by Qatar at the Asian Town Stadium in Industrial Area from October 23. Tanveer clobbered five sixes and half a dozen boundaries to finish with an unbeaten 94 off 72 balls, which propped up Asian Club to 325 for eight in 50 overs. Later, the all-rounder collected three wickets to set up a 173-run crushing of rivals Firox Club.

Vithanage, who followed his four-wicket wicket haul with a stylish 69 not out, and Mohammed Rizlan, who also smashed an undefeated 69 with a six and three fours, led Galfar Al Misnad Club to an emphatic nine-wicket romp over Royal Stars in another match.
