Doha: Secretary-General of the Shura Council H E Dr. Ahmed bin Nasser Al Fadhala expressed his appreciation of the efforts of the members during first regular session of the first legislative term, corresponding to the 50th session of the Shura Council.
Speaking on the occasion of the end of the first legislative term, he said that the council’s General Secretariat has made a lot of effort during the first legislative term to ensure a smooth legislative process. He added that the General Secretariat is keen on attracting national cadres to enhance the capabilities of the council.
He referred to the adoption of the organisational structure and personnel affairs regulations of the Council, during the first session and in a relatively short period of time to achieve that goal, pointing out that a number of qualified women elements were attracted in order to enhance work and diversify experiences in the General Secretariat.
He added that the General Secretariat has dealt with a number of organisational matters aimed at strengthening the work in the Council and supporting the legislative process. He added that it has also appointed the competencies of departments, sections and administrative units, and formed the committees concerned with their employees and workers and special committees for the conduct of their work.
He concluded his remarks by saying that the State of Qatar has managed also to win presidency of the Arab Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments (AASGP), and will look to advance the council’s status regionally and internationally.
