Doha: Qatar Foundation (QF) has announced that Tariq Bin Ziad School in Doha is to be brought under the umbrella of its Pre-University Education (PUE) from the 2019-20 academic year.

By combining cultural values and local heritage with world-class education, the school will nurture homegrown talent capable of contributing to Qatar’s development, while also cultivating global citizens.

The academic focus of the school will extend beyond the classroom and into the community, through activities and educational pathways that are intended to bring cultural heritage to life.  The school will offer a bilingual co-educational Primary Years Programme that follows the International Baccalaureate curriculum, with additional elements that reflect the enduring importance of Qatar’s heritage.

Classes will commence in August 2019, and initially the school will cater for students from Pre-3 to Grade 1, after which one grade level will be added each year until Grade 5.

Buthaina Ali Al Nuaimi, President of PUE, QF, said, “We are proud to reopen Tariq Bin Ziad School under the umbrella of Qatar Foundation, and expand our reach and offering to serve our community.  We are committed to delivering quality education rooted in Qatar’s rich culture and heritage and prepare future generations to succeed, flourish and contribute to the development of their communities.”

Maha Al Romaihi, Director, Tariq Bin Ziad School, said, “We’re very pleased to be bringing a school that has such a rich history and legacy under the umbrella of QF’s Pre-University Education.
