The activities of the ‘Impregnable Guard 2020’ drill, which is organised by the Joint Special Forces in partnership with the Ministry of Interior, the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), and the Amiri Guard, will start on Sunday.
The drill will also include a number of forces from friendly countries, such as the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Turkey, the Kingdom of Morocco, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Sultanate of Oman, the United States of America, the French Republic, the Republic of Rwanda and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (Nato).
The majority of the ‘Impregnable Guard 2020’ drill will take place in the interior regions throughout the country, including the Al Janoub Stadium, Hamad International Airport, and Qatar Railways (Rail). The exercise will continue until March 27.
The drill comes within the framework of strengthening military and security relations between the participating countries, as well as developing the capabilities of their forces and enhancing cooperation and joint coordination between them.
The drill is organised periodically between the Joint Special Forces and various security agencies, and friendly countries, as it consists of scenarios and training that contribute to preparing and training the participating forces to respond to any cross-border security threat. Also, it comes in the context of preparing for the 2022 World Cup.
