Training programme for Qatari imams begins today

DOHA: The training programme of new Qatari imams will start  this  evening and will continue for two months at Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhab Grand Mosque.

The training programme is organised by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and about 20 Qatari youth are participating in it. The programme aims at developing the participants’ skills.

The programme also was preceded by an introductory meeting attended by the Qatari Imams and preachers who are participating  in the programme. The Director of Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs attended the meeting.

The meeting reviewed the preparatory programme and the legal materials that will be studied during the programme.

The two-month training programme, which runs from Sunday to Wednesday in the evening from 4pm to 8pm, is part of the Ministry’s plan to prepare the Qatari imams. The course focuses on Quran and its sciences, Fiqh and Shariah.

A group of specialised trainers will deliver lectures  to enhance the knowledge and skills of imams and preachers who will be able to prepare comprehensively for public speaking and raise their academic level.
