Doha: The Committee for Accreditation of Engineers & Consultancy Offices of the Ministry of Municipality & Environment (MME) has prepared three model contracts that organise the relationship between citizens and engineering consulting offices in the fields of engineering design and supervision of the implementation of the work.
As well, these contracts organize relationship between citizens and the contractor in order to explain the minimum items to be met in such contracts and guide them when signing contracts design, supervision and contractor villas, in an easier and at the lowest possible cost. The preparation of these consultancy contracts was based on a recommendation of the Central Municipal Council to the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
The citizens can download the copies of the guiding contracts from the website of the Ministry of Municipality and the Environment. The Committee for Accreditation of Engineers & Consultancy Offices said that such contracts would ensure the rights and obligations of each party.
The consultancy services in the fields of design and supervision shall include the duties and prohibitions of the engineering consultancy office and the contractor, the responsibility of the engineering consultancy office and the contractor for its work, the obligations of the owner towards the engineering consultancy office, the contractor, the period of execution of the contract and the delay penalties.
