Barwa Village is set for a major expansion that will have additional residential apartments, shops and a supermarket and other facilities. Barwa Real Estate Company yesterday announced the awarding of QR63m worth contract for the ‘Barwa Village Extension’ project to ‘M/s. Insha Co. – WLL’ . The prject is scheduelld to be completed within 18 months.
Barwa Village Extension Project will be constructed on a plot area of 11,096 square metres and consist of four floors building with a total built up area of 34,492 square metres.
The extension of Barwa Village reflects the growing demand for residential apartments and commercial complexes in the country due to continuous rise in the population. The demand for residential apartments and shops is very high among the residents due to comparatively low rents and good services and due to its vicinity to Hamad International Airport.
“The ‘Barwa Village Extension’ project is an extension to the existing Barwa Village and ‘reflects quality in design’,” said the company yesterday in a statement.
The strip building ground and mezzanine floors will contain 56 shops, 10 food and beverage units, and four anchor stores with areas between 72.00 - 740 square metres, in addition to supermarket with an area of 1,338 square metres.
The first, second and third floors contain 177 residential apartments comprise of 84 one-bedroom apartments with buildup area between 73 - 76 square metres, 87 two bedroom apartments with buildup area between 111 - 113 square metres and six studios with buildup areas between 47 - 58 square metres.
The Infrastructure work includes construction of two distribution substations and all required utilities for electricity, potable water, drainage, hard & soft landscape, CCTV, roads and car parks, with all storage tanks and pump rooms for potable water, firefighting and gas.
Barwa Village Extension is 2017 first project launched by Barwa Real Estate after launching of Manateq, Madinat Al Mawater and Dara A projects during 2016 as per Company Business Plan.
“It is worth mentioning that there is no Conflict of Interest between Barwa Real Estate and Insha Co.” said the company.
