Minister of Municipality and Environment, H E Eng. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, participated yesterday in the meeting of the third session of the General Assembly of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), which was held under the title 'sustainable development of food security in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) region', and was hosted by Ankara via video conference. During the meeting, a number of topics on the agenda were discussed, including: the IOFS action plan for the development of strategic commodities (wheat, cassava, rice and palm oil), the establishment of a food security reserve for the IOFS, the establishment of an Islamic Food Processing Association, and the management of food security, science, technology and innovation programmes, agri-food trade promotion and investment, humanitarian food programmes, and improvement of the balanced food database for the IOFS.
