DOHA: The Qatar Cricket Association (QCA) is set to organise Nations Cup, an event involving four-expatriate teams, to celebrating Qatar’s Independence Day.
Teams representing expatriate communities from Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will take part in the tournament, QCA Secretary General, Manzoor Ahmad, said in a press statement yesterday.
A Qatar XI will also be part of the event, Ahmad added.
The four preliminary stage matches of the tournament will be played on December 14 at the West Bay Cricket Grounds, Ahmad said.
The two semi-finals and the all-important final will be played at the new Cricket Stadium on December 18.
A total of 26 prizes will be handed over to the members of the teams that contest the final, the statement added.
Other prizes include Player of the Tournament and Player of the Match (after each match and the final). The first match on both the days commences at 7:30am.

“We are expecting a good crowd on December 18 as all the matches will be played at our new cricket stadium,” Ahmad said.
