Doha: The Ministry of Municipality, represented by the Department of Agricultural Affairs launched yesterday the working season of the local agricultural product yards in Mazrouah, Al Wakra, Al Khor, Al Thakhira, Al Shamal, and Al Shahaniya.
The working days in Mazrouah, Al Wakra, Al Khor, Al Thakhira will be during all days of the week, while in Al Shamal, and Al Shahaniya, the working days will be on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of every week.
The Head of Extension and Agricultural Services Department Ahmed Al Yafei said that the current working season for the agricultural product yards comes in a continuation of the previous successful seasons that aim to support the Qatari farmers with the local product, pointing out that the majority of the local farms are participating in this season, indicating that the local product has high quality and that the current season witnesses the participation of over 100 farms in the yards.
The local product yards offer a marketing platform directly with Qatari farmers to deal with the consumers without a broker, as yards are characterised by low prices of the introduced products.
