Doha: Centre for Empowerment and Care of the Elderly (Ehsan), a centre under the umbrella of Qatar Foundation for Social Work (QFSW), celebrates World Senior Citizen’s Day with various activities throughout October.
The centre is scheduled to hold a seminar today entitled “Labour Market Opportunities to Benefit from the Experience of the Elderly” under the theme of digital equality for all ages in cooperation with the Kuwait Charitable Society for Elderly Care and Rehabilitation.
The seminar aims to educate the community about the rights and basic needs of the elderly, discuss issues relating to the rights and needs of the elderly with national stakeholders, highlight the giving of the elderly and to invest their experience in the labour market, learn about some local and Gulf experiences in benefiting the experiences of the elderly.
The seminar will urge officials to enact laws and legislation for their benefit in the labour market, and communicate with the community's elite and introduce them to Ehsan’s role in the Qatari society.
