Doha: Through its participation in fighting the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Qatar Care company has achieved 19,748 hours of voluntary work from March until September this year, as part of its work under the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH).
The achievement indicates the close cooperation between the private and public sectors in Qatar’s health sector and the constant coordination of efforts to fight such a global pandemic.
Qatar Care Executive Director, Saleh Salem Al Eida said that since it first engaged in the fight against COVID-19, Qatar Care has conducted around 50,000 swab tests for the virus, including 3,000 swabs in a single day, a rate of 56 swabs completed per 26 minutes. These have covered health quarantines, hotels, the operation centers for the team of the quarantine testing, and the mobile testing areas at the vehicles, houses, housing complexes, labourers’ accommodations, employees’ housing, the Industrial Area, playgrounds, mosques, commercial complexes, public places, and health facilities.

He stressed that the company’s best medical teams have been directed to carry out voluntary work in the fight against COVID-19.
Al Eida considers that the company’s voluntary work agrees with Qatar’s policy, which is regarded as a pioneer in this field worldwide, and Qatar National Vision 2030 under the wise leadership of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. He also explained that the company’s voluntary work is considered the least possible thing to repay Qatar for its efforts in maintaining the well-being of its people, back its organizations, and give the due support to individuals and organisations alike.
Accordingly, he stated that the company is ready to assist the MoPH, which has already made great strides in fighting the pandemic. It will also support private health organisations to blend private and public sectors’ collective efforts to achieve the best healthcare, adding that the company would remain supportive of the key role undertaken by the MoPH as it provides all the possible support and assistance to the private sector in the country to help keep the excellent and sophisticated high-quality health care level in Qatar.
