Doha: Aspire Academy graduate and Qatar’s number 1 squash player Abdulla Al Tamimi, has climbed the PSA World Ranking to position 24th as per the latest world ranking at the end of September 2018.
The 24-year-old Aspire graduate moved four places up from last ranking released in August. This is Tamimi’s highest ever PSA World Ranking so, he became the highest ranked squash player from the Gulf region.
Tamimi’s progress in the PSA World Ranking comes on the back of solid performances and pleasing results from recent international squash tournaments including the JP Morgan China Open held recently in Shanghai.
Tamimi was delighted by taking the 24th place for the first time in his career and stressed that he will do his best to reach a higher position during the new season.
Tamimi began his squash career in 2011 and broke into the world’s top 70 in November 2014 and entered the top 40 after winning the title of Australian Open.
Al Tamimi is one of most prominent Aspire graduates and one of the talents that the academy has developed to make the nation proud at international tournaments.
