DOHA: Over 35,000 visitors are expected to attend The Youth Company’s (TYC) third annual ‘Run The World Festival’ to be held from December 19 to 21 at Katara Cultural Village.
As one of TYC’s chief youth events, Run The World presents an exciting opportunity for youth between the ages of 14 to 29 years to participate in a range of sports, showcase outstanding talents, get involved in community projects, as well as to gain exposure to different cultures of the world through competitions, talks and global village fairs. Moreover, youth willing to participate in organizing the festival will be given the chance to apply and volunteer for specified jobs.
“Through RTWF, we aim to encourage the youth to network with others and enhance their experiences through sports, culture and community engagement, ultimately partaking in the largest youth event of the year in Qatar.
This year, are hoping to welcome even more visitors to this exciting installment of RTWF,” says Mohamed Farid, founder and chairman of The Youth Company International.
TYC will integrate four elements into RTWF 2013: sport, entertainment, environment, and culture, all of which will manifest into a unique village space that unites over 30 cultural groups, associations, and even youth clubs exhibiting their work.
RTWF will also feature some familiar events, such as the Youth Got Talent contest – which was also held the previous year and RTW Talks discussing various community topics. A platform will also be presented for youth to initiate and develop their own sustainable projects through Run The World Legacy Projects. Furthermore, entrants will be involved in various physical activities such as Parkour, dance, and several sports.
Last year RTWF received 27,000 visitors, hosted nine events, engaged 700 volunteers, 100 performers, and 65 Youth Got Talent Participants, meanwhile receiving 51 media hits, 100 photography and video submissions, and cooperating with 34 organizations.
