Doha: The countdown began for the start of the first round of the Athletics Diamond League Championship (Doha 2018), which will be hosted by the Qatar Athletics Federation on May 4 next year, with the participation of world and Olympic champions.
The official website of the Diamond League announced the beginning of the count down fir the Doha meeting which will be held after 243 days. The announcement came after the end of the recent round of the championship this year, which ended in Brussels on Saturday.
Qatar has been hosting the opening round of the tournament, in which Qatar’s world champion Mutaz Barshim bagged the Diamond Title of 2017 Athletics Championships, becoming the first high-jump player to win all rounds of the league (Doha, Shanghai, Oslo, Birmingham and Zurich) since 2004.
