Doha: The Commercial Registration and Licensing Department at Qatar's Ministry of Economy and Trade registered 1,924 new businesses in August 2016.
The latest data released on Sunday by the ministry includes the registration of 1238 main businesses and 686 sub businesses.
The data shows that out the total registrations 59 percent are Limited Liability Companies (LLC), 24 percent are One Person Company (OPC) and the rest 17 percent Individual Companies.
Construction sector companies topped the list with 466 new registrations followed by construction materials trading companies (181) and restaurants, takeaways and fruit and vegetable shops155.
