Doha: Ministry of Labour received about 4,692 new recruitment requests in July 2022. It approved 2,680 and rejected 2012.
The total number of requests to modify the profession was 3,422. A total of 2,641 were approved and 781 were rejected, according to the statistical bulletin of July 2022 issued by the Ministry yesterday.
The bulletin includes the most prominent statistics and figures of the labour sector in Qatar, as well as the results of inspection visits to various companies.
The number of requests for work permits submitted to the Ministry during July is 822, including 287 to renew the permit, 379 to issue a new permit, and 156 to cancel issued permits.
Regarding the inspection visits to the recruitment offices, the statistical bulletin showed that the Ministry carried out 34 inspection tours to the recruitment offices, which resulted in warning notification to seven offices.
In July 2022, the Labor Inspection Department undertook intensive inspection campaigns to observe how companies comply with the laws and ministerial decisions concerned with regulating the labour market in the State of Qatar. The total number of inspection visits in various regions was 3,693, which resulted in finding 473 violations.
Regarding to labour complaints, the statistical bulletin showed that the Labor Relations Department received 2,232 complaints from workers against the facility, of which 211 complaints were settled, 827 complaints were referred, and 1,194 are still under consideration.
According to the monthly statistical bulletin of labour dispute settlement committees, the number of cases referred to dispute resolution committees during the past month is 827, and the total number of decisions issued by labour dispute resolution committees is 318 cases, and the total decisions that are still under considerations are 466.
