Doha: The Geodetic Engineers of the Philippines-Qatar Chapter (GEP-Qatar), the first and only organisation of professional Filipino geodetic engineers based in Qatar, has recently acquired official accreditation from the Philippine Embassy.
Led by Edgardo T Basilio, President, the newly-elected officers of GEP-Qatar, took their oath before Philippine Ambassador to Qatar Wilfredo C Santos on June 16 at the Embassy in Doha.
Ambassador Santos congratulated them after the oath-taking rites and handed over to the group the accreditation certificate which confirms GEP-Qatar as a duly registered and recognised Filipino organisation under the Philippine Embassy. After having been accredited by the Philippine Embassy, GEP-Qatar now gears toward formally securing the recognition by the Geodetic Engineers of the Philippines, Incorporated, the lead organisation of Geodetic Engineers in the country.
GEP-Qatar’s main objective is to ensure that all members are competent and competitive, and that everyone is kept updated with the most recent information, technology and developments in the field of geomatics.
GEP-Qatar invites all Filipino Geodetic Engineers and practicing surveyors based in Qatar to join the group and help in the continued advancement and development of the profession. The Peninsula
