DOHA: Qatar University (QU) will hold an orientation event for ‘early conditional admissions’ for this Fall, on Saturday.
The Admission Department said 377 applicants met the minimum requirements for undergraduate admission out of 487 applicants.
Students will have the opportunity to register in their programmes and receive information about the university, its policies, services, facilities, and resources as well as extra-curricular and other student-related activities.
Nouf Al Kuwari, Director of the department, stressed that ‘early conditional admissions’ are provisional pending successful completion of the final year of high school and fulfilment of all admission requirements.
She said applicants who did not satisfy the requirements for Early Conditional Admission will also be considered for regular first-year admission on July 12.
“Our early conditional admissions initiative allows students still enrolled in their final year of high school and who have earned outstanding grades in 11th grade and the first semester of 12th grade, to make early application to QU upon fulfilling necessary academic requirements and the Qatari parent rule,” Al Kuwari said.
She said one of the key benefits of early conditional admission students attending the orientation event is that they will have a full selection of courses to choose from, affording them the opportunity to register for all their Fall semester classes.
Students who were successful in their early conditional applications were admitted into their college of first preference, and eight of the nine colleges have accepted early conditional admissions for the next academic year.
The department is accepting regular undergraduate admission applications for Fall 2016 and has encouraged applications from prospective students who did not apply under the early conditional admissions initiative, Al Kuwari added.
“We look forward to receiving your applications and final/official high school results before the deadline of July 14,” she added.
