DOHA: The Qatari beneficiaries of the national health insurance scheme — Seha —can now have eyeglasses and frames covered under the scheme through the Magrabi Optical outlets in Qatar.
Seha’s optical coverage includes ophthalmic lenses, spectacle frames, contact lenses and contact lens fitting.
Members can get prescribed eyeglasses and lenses for a value of up to QR1,000 every two years through Seha’s optical equipment network. Prescriptions from network providers will be honoured on a direct billing basis so that members do not have to make cash payments up to QR 1,000. Amounts above that limit will have to be settled in cash directly by the member, the Qatar National Insurance Company (QNIC) said yesterday.
The six outlets of Magrabi Optical have joined Seha provider network, offering scheme members both choice and convenience when it comes to their optical needs. The complete list of participating outlets can be found at: www.seha.ga.
Seha provides Qataris with comprehensive health insurance coverage for the full range of basic health services, through a network of public and private providers. Coverage includes both in-patient and out-patient services including; preventative care, emergency treatment, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, long-term care, radiology, ophthalmology, laboratory testing and prescription medicines. Dental services are expected to be covered from June this year. Details about the provider network and the schedule of benefits are available on seha.qa.
Qatari nationals who wish to use Seha’s services need only to present their Qatar ID when visiting a network provider and, during their first visit, provide details of their residential address. The address details can be found on the plate installed by the Centre for Geographical Information System (CGIS) on all buildings across the country.
