Doha: Huawei has become another key participant in the 2014 International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Telecom World Conference to be held in Doha.
Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani, CEO, Ooredoo Qatar, signed an agreement with Ali Shi, President, Huawei, the Middle East, at a ceremony at the GSMA Mobile World Congress taking place in Barcelona, Spain.
The event brings together influential global leaders in ICT from the public and private sectors, for strategic debate, knowledge-sharing, innovation showcasing and networking at the highest level. It has already attracted high-profile exhibitors and promises to be one of the largest and most substantial communication events in the region this decade.
Huawei, a technology solutions global giant, has products and solutions deployed in more 140 countries, serving more than one-third of the world’s population, and sees its participation as a key opportunity.
“The participation of Huawei, the largest telecom equipment maker in the world from China, is a strong indication of the global interest in the ITU event, and another important addition to the global range of partners to participate,” said Sheikh Saud.
“As a company dedicated to better connecting the world by improving efficiency and meeting challenges head on, we look forward to interacting with Ooredoo and our counterparts from all over the world at the ITU event,” said Ali Shi.
Qatar appointed Ooredoo to organise the ITU forum on its half. The forum will be held at Qatar National Convention Centre.
