Doha, Qatar: Qatar Social and Cultural Center for the Blind (QSCCB) of the Ministry of Culture will take part in the Asian Blind Union (ABU)-organised regional workshops and the ABU’s executive and administrative committee meetings, held in collaboration with the Kuwait Blind Association.

The QSCCB’s delegation has departed to the State of Kuwait to participate in these events, which continue until Friday.

The agenda includes a raft of professional workshops that will drill down on significant topics, foremost of which are assistive technologies for visually impaired individuals, educating individuals with visual impairments, the associated challenges and ambitions, self-development and strengthening self-reliance, as well as issues facing visually impaired women and the available occupational opportunities.

The events will be broadly punctuated by a meeting of the ABU’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors, with the participation of representatives of the member states.

This participation is part of the QSCCB’s commitment to strengthening its regional presence and sharing expertise, as well as effectively contributing to advancing programs and initiatives supportive of visually impaired individuals, in commensurate alignment with its mission of empowerment and fostering effective social engagement, thereby contributing to exchanging expertise and projecting the creative capabilities of those individuals
