The Joint Special Forces, in collaboration with the Lekhwiya force, celebrated yesterday the graduation of the riot control course, under the auspices and in the presence of Chief of Staff of Qatari Armed Forces H E Lieutenant General (Pilot) Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanim and in the presence of the Commander of the Joint Special Forces, Major General Hamad bin Abdullah Al Fetais Al Marri.
The course is part of the department’s plan to prepare groups of the joint special forces members to act as a support force for Lekhwiya during the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The course lasted for four weeks and covered several topics, including riots and the law, riot-control formations, riot weapons, securing stadiums and important facilities, and crowd management among other topics. During the ceremony, the participants showcased the skills they acquired during this course. At the end of the ceremony, Chief of Staff of Qatari Armed Forces Lieutenant General (Pilot) Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanim thanked the participants and trainers and urged them to put in more effort in order to strengthen cooperation between different security bodies in the country, wishing them success.
