Kirsten Wild of Hitec Products is seen showing her injury to an official at Al Khor Corniche.

DOHA: A horrific crash late yesterday during stage two of the Ladies Tour of Qatar has almost taken the title chance away from Dutch star Kirsten Wild but she is not complaining one bit.
Wild, a four-time winner in Qatar, is 3 minutes 48 seconds adrift of golden jersey owner Katrin Garfoot who won stage two at Al Khor Corniche yesterday.
The Hitec Products rider, who won stage one on Tuesday, arrived in Qatar aiming at a fifth title in the desert.
“It’s okay. It’s racing,” Wild said with cuts on her right knee and elbows.
“I am just bruised. I crashed on my elbow and on my knee. I am happy all my teeth are in place. I can still smile,” she added with a broad grin.
“Yeah, it was really disappointing. But my team still helped me a lot so that I could remain in the front but unfortunately I couldn’t make it,” the Dutch rider said.
“For that (the team’s support), I am really proud but overall I am disappointed that I couldn’t make it today,” she said. “I crashed over another girl. Then the bunch went down. That was the second time. I crashed when we were riding. Then I had to change my bike. It was broken,” she said.
