Qatar’s nominal GDP estimated at QR147.43bn for Q3

DOHA: Qatar’s real GDP recorded a 3.8 percent growth in third quarter  (Q3) of 2015 year-on-year. Nominal GDP or GDP at current prices is estimated at QR147.43bn for Q3, a decrease of 22.8 percent from a year ago. When compared to the previous quarter (Q2,15), the country’s nominal GDP is down by 2.9 percent.
According to the preliminary figures released by the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS) yesterday the mining and quarrying sector’s, including oil and gas sector, nominal gross value added (GVA) is estimated at QR50.55bn for Q3,15, a decline of 47.6 percent on year-on-year. 
The reduction in international price levels of crude oil in this quarter has led to sharper decline in nominal GVA of this sector.
The nominal GVA estimate of non-mining and quarrying is at QR96.88bn, an increase of 2.3 percent over the Q3, 2014 estimate of QR94.69bn. 
The real GVA of these sectors in Q3,15, totaled QR100.95bn, a growth of 7.8 percent over the corresponding quarter of Q3,14. However, compared to the previous quarter (Q2,15) , there has been a rise of 4.4 percent in the GCA of this sector. The high growth in the Q3,15 is mainly due to the increase seen in construction, social services and financial sectors.
The nominal GVA of manufacturing sector in Q3 of 2015 is estimated at QR15.02bn showing a drop of 25.5 percent over the estimate of corresponding quarter 2014. 
Compared to the previous quarter, there has been a marginal decrease of 0.2 percent. The construction sector is placed at QR13.61bn in Q3,15, up by 16.6 percent on year-on-year, an increase of 3.3 percent on Quarter-on-quarter. Compared to the previous quarter, the sector grew 5.9 percent.
The trade, hotel and restaurant group is estimated at QR15.24bn, an increase of 8.5 percent on y-o-y.
The Transport and Communication sector generated a value of QR6.89bn,against QR6.53bn, a rise of 5.5 percent. Compared to the previous quarter, Q2 of 2015, the sector recorded an increase of 7.4 percent. The Finance, real estate & business services group grew 8.7 percent to QR26.27bn.However, compared to Q2,15, the sector declined 3.5 percent.
Transport and communication added QR6.89bn, a 5.5 percent increase  year-on-year. Compared to the previous quarter, the sector grew 7.4 percent. The Peninsula
