DOHA: All applications from companies seeking authorisation for import of telecommunications and radio equipment will now be processed through the e-government portal, Hukoomi, effective from today, the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) said yesterday.
CRA authorization is necessary for sale of cellular phones and private mobile radio devices. The required approvals and relevant documents such as licences and certificates are granted after careful evaluation of the applications received through Hukoomi portal at: https://portal.www.gov.qa.
However, to ensure a smooth transition, CRA will also accept submissions manually till the end of February. After the two months grace period is over, the applications will be exclusively processed digitally. “Through this decision, CRA intends to enhance the existing application process and make it more convenient and practical for people of Qatar. Hukoomi is the centralized digital platform for residents to access public e-services offered by different Government entities,” said a CRA statement.
For clarifications and more information, applicants may call CRA Hotline 103, visit the Government Contact Centre at Al Nasr Tower B, or send an e-mail to [email protected].
CRA regulates the communications and information technology sector, postal services, and access to digital media. In all its activities, the CRA seeks to ensure the provision of advanced, innovative and reliable ICT and postal services across Qatar.
