Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra, who called for cracker-free diwali, found herself trending on social media for all the wrong reasons.

As the skies lit up with fireworks over Umaid Bhawan Palace while the actress got married to American singer Nick Jonas in a traditional Hindu ceremony, many took to social media for her double standards.

In November, during Diwali, Priyanka diagnosed with asthma since five, campaigned for Cipla, a pharmaceutical company, urged people not to burst firecrackers due to the health hazards it leads to. However for her wedding celebration, skies exploded with fireworks over Jodhpur.

“Please keep my breathing unstoppable. Skip the crackers this Deepawali,” the actor urges in the promotional. “Let Deepawali be about lights and laddoos and love and not pollution. Reduce the use of firecrackers, so that you all, asthmatics like me, all the animals out there, everyone can enjoy the festival too.” This is what she said in the promotion for Breathefree, a public service initiative for asthma patients organised by Cipla.

Netizens called out Priyanka for her "double standards" and asked if the crackers were sound calibrated and oxygenated.

The wedding celebrations which included three days of a colourful mehendi ceremony, a friendly cricket match and a power-packed 'desi' musical evening.
