Director-General of Public Security Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi inaugurating the new Al Khor Services Center in the presence of a number of Ministry of Interior departments directors, yesterday.
Citizens and expatriates residing in Al Khor will now get all government services under one roof with the opening of the new Al Khor Services Center.
The Director General of Public Security Staff Maj General Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi yesterday opened the new facility, which provides various services of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) along with other governmental services.
In his opening remarks, Al Khulaifi said that the strategy of the ministry to set up services centres across the country is nearing completion, as it has so far opened 19 services centres and four more new centres are to be opened in the near future.
Hukoomi services will soon be available in Ras Laffan, The Pearl Qatar and Ruwais also. He added that almost 80% of the geographical areas of the state has already been covered by MoI services centres.
Al Khulaifi added that the new services centre is equipped with the latest devices used in the services of passports, fingerprint and criminal information and evidences that would help to complete the procedures in shorter time. These devices will soon be installed in other service centers, He added.
Brig Muhammad Ahmad Al Atieq, Director General of the General Directorate of Nationality, Borders and Expatriate Affairs (GDNBEA) said that the new center is all set to provide all services available in the headquarters of GDNBEA along with other government services. These include services related to visa, residence, exit permit, company registration renewal and service of the recruitment committee that facilitates remote interviewing of the applicants.
The Director of Government Services Complex Department Muhammad Muslim Al Rashidi said that the new centre, the ninth of its kind, offers services of seven ministries including Foreign Ministry, Justice Ministry, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Administrative Development and Labour and Social Affairs, Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Kahrama.
Real estate registration, commercial licenses, work contracts, bill payments and all other services are available in Al Khor Services Center.
The Director of the Consular Affairs Department at the Foreign Ministry Ambassador Muhammad Abdullah Saeed Al-Subaei said that the department is keen to complete the documents attestation and authorization services to the citizens and residents within very short period- only three minutes. He added that the clients can approach the department in case of facing any problems in completion of their required services easily.
Brigadier Engineer Muhammad Thani Al Mudahaka, Director of Building Affairs Department said that the new Al Khor Services Center includes 13 counters for other government services and 16 counters for MOI services.
The center also includes a separate building for Nationality and Travel Documents Department for the services of the citizens with special areas for men and women. All buildings are equipped with latest safety tools and have spacious car parking space and waiting halls. Lt. Colonel Nasser Abdul Karim Al Humaidi, Director of Al Khor Service Center said that the service center will work in two shifts now from 6am to1 pm and from 3pm to 6pm. The evening shift will be changed from 1pm to 8pm in the near future.
