Doha: Qatar Exchange pursued its upward trend yesterday, adding 13.13 points (or 0.15 percent) to advance to 8,535.81 points from 8,522.68 on Monday. The top gainers were Qatar Islamic Bank which was up 0.52 percent to QR77.40, Barwa Real Estate rose 0.84 percent to QR29.90, International Islamic gained 0.39 percent to QR52.10 and Qatar Electricity and Water was up by 0.37 percent to QR134.50. The banking and financial sector index lost 2.06 points, the consumer goods and services sector index added 1.74 points, the industrial sector gained 1.22 points while the insurance sector dropped 7.86 points.
QR580.3m real estate deals signed
Doha: Real estate transactions between September 23 and 27 for the real estate sales contracts registered at the Ministry of Justice were worth QR580.3m, the real estate registration department at the Ministry said in its report. The list of properties that were traded by sale included open plots of land, villas, houses and residential buildings, located in the municipalities of Umm Salal, Doha, Al Khor, Al Rayyan, Al Shamal, Al Dhaayeen and Al Wakra.
European stocks slip; euro gains
LONDON: Europe’s main stock markets ended with losses yesterday. London’s FTSE 100 index of top companies closed lower at 5,809.45 points. Frankfurt’s DAX 30 was down at 7,305.86 points while the Paris CAC 40 fell to 3,414.23 points. But in Madrid, the IBEX 35 index rose to 7,867.10 points. The euro climbed to $1.2941 from $1.2896 late in New York on Monday. QNA/AFP
