Doha: The State Cabinet has approved a draft law amending some provisions of the Labour Law promulgated by Law No. (14) of 2004 in its ordinary meeting held today.
The preparation of the aforementioned draft law comes within the framework of the state’s keenness to tighten supervision of health and safety requirements and specifications in labour camps, and to enhance the protection of workers' financial dues.
The draft law includes criminalizing violations of the provisions on suitable housing conditions and specifications for workers’ accommodation, and increasing the penalty for employers who are not committed to paying workers financial dues.
