Gifts, fireworks and stage play at Katara for Eid

As the whole country prepares for a grand Eid Al Fitr celebration, the Cultural Village Foundation – Katara is all set to present a host of spectacular events and activities for thousands of people expected to visit Katara during the Eid holidays.

The children’s stage play “The Cake Vendor” will be running from the first day of Eid until June 9 at the Katara Drama Theater in building 16 with two shows — one at 5pm and another at 7pm.

The Al Thuraya Planetarium, on the other hand, will be screening “Dawn of the Space Age” from the second until fourth day of Eid festival with three daily shows including a 5pm screening in English, 6pm screening in Arabic and a 7pm show in English.

Gifts will be distributed to the children at the Katara amphitheatre and a large play area is allocated for them open from 5pm to 10pm which includes many entertainment activities for them.

The festival will also feature a cartoon character show at 9pm and a musical show presented by the Police Training Institute at 7pm.

The first day of Eid festival will conclude with fireworks display at 10pm  followed by balloon release at 10:10pm.
