Doha: Qatar Vanimal Pravasi Forum (QVPF), a socio-cultural organisation of Indian expatriate community members from the southern Indian state of Kerala, brought together over 800 community members for its annual Iftar meet held at Asian Town Cricket Stadium recreation hall.

For the past two decades, the forum has been tirelessly promoting social connections and fostering interactions among fellow compatriots residing in Qatar.

Reyada Medical Centre offered complimentary medical checkups under the supervision of Dr. Mubeena Kuniyal, while Habeeb Rahman Kizhisseri, Executive Director of Friends Cultural Centre (FCC), delivered the keynote address.

During his speech, Habeeb Rahman emphasised the significance of embracing the true essence of fasting.

“Fasting is not just about refraining from food, but it is also about cleansing the mind by controlling the temptation of negative thoughts. Hence, it is crucial to remain watchful and keep your eyes and ears free from wicked thoughts,” he said.

Subair KK, General Secretary of QVPF, extended a warm welcome to the gathering, while president Shammas Kalathil, presided over the program, which was graced by special invitees and notable members of the forum.

A total of four lucky participants among the community were picked at random and the winners walked away with attractive prizes. The grand meet-up concluded with a vote of thanks by treasurer Ismail CK.
