Doha: There are certain procedures to follow if you need to sell your gold - jewellery or in other forms - in Qatar. Recentl Ministry of Interior had put up the detailed requirements on their social media platform to help the residents. Here is the complete post explaining the steps to follow.
To ensure proper safety for the personal belongings of the people, Ministry of Interior issues NOC for those willing to sell their gold ornaments and other gold items. These NOCs are can be obtained from various security departments (Capital, Rayyan, North, South, Dukhan) as wells from Gold Permits office at Souq Waqif.
Here are the requirements for obtaining NOC.
Conditions For Women
1.) Produce the gold to be sold at permit counter.
2.) Produce the purchase bills if available
3.) Present the original ID card for Citizen and Resident owners and Passport for the visitors.
Conditions For Men
1.) Only the gold belongings to the first degree relatives (Mother, wife, sister, grandmother) and second degree relatives (sister of father or mother) can be sold by gents and he should produce the gold to be sold.
2.) Produce the original ID card of the gold owner.
3.) Present the purchase bills in if available.
4.) In case of gold coins or gents gold watches, purchase bills shall be presented.
5.) In case gold coin or watch is produced through a representative, he should produce original ID card of the owners and its purchase bills.
Please note that permits will not be issued for those below 18 years and a fee of QAR 10 to be paid by bank card.
