Doha: Albahie Auction house will hold its inaugural auction of Islamic and Orientalist art on Tuesday at 4pm at Katara Cultural Village.
It offers Quranic manuscripts, Orientalist paintings and sculptures, enamels, a large selection of arms and armour, glass, fine furniture and Indian period jewellery.
All 240 artworks are on display at the auction house’s permanent space in Building No. 22C at Katara Cultural Village. A preview exhibition is open daily from 9am to 9pm until the day of live sale.

Representatives are available to provide additional information such as condition reports on items on sale and guide anyone unfamiliar with the auction and bidding process.
Albahie has made it easy for anyone to bid. Bidding can be done in four ways — in person at the auction, online via the website www.albahie.com, on the telephone or by leaving an absentee (or maximum) bid.
If you choose to bid live during the auction in the saleroom, once you have registered, you will receive a paddle and can bid on any lot by raising your paddle when the lot opens.
The auction can be followed live on albahie.com and Internet bidding is a convenient and easy method of bidding from home. Internet registration should be done prior to the start of the auction.
For telephone bidding, a representative from AlBahie call you when your lot is up for bidding. Telephone bidding be done in Arabic, English or French and bids should be submitted up to 24 hours prior to the auction.
Anyone not available during live auction can leave an absentee or maximum bid, and the auctioneer will execute an absentee bid at the lowest possible price. Absentee bids should also be submitted prior to the start of bidding.
