Families with children aged five and above are welcome to ‘Origami Family Workshops’ by artist Afsheen.

Doha: Katara Arts Studios of Cultural Village Foundation – Katara is gearing up to present its latest origami workshops at Building No. 19.
From Saturday until February 10 from 5pm to 8pm, families with children aged five years and above are welcome to attend ‘Origami Family Workshops’ by artist Afsheen.
Each day of the workshops will feature a distinct theme which employs the ancient art of paper folding. Topics for the workshops include ‘Animal’; ‘Toy’; ‘Aquatic Animal’; ‘Sports’; ‘Fashion’; and ‘Back to School’ origami.
Origami has been documented by historians as appearing separately within the cultures of China, Japan and Europe for centuries.
The practice became more unified around the start of the 20th century, with its popularity growing in the decades since and the Japanese paper crane emerging as the most widely exhibited model.
The practice has found immense favour around the world based on the ease of creating origami with merely a square sheet of paper and the know how which results in the possibility of forming a series of figures.
The workshops will be also conducted in English. Those interested may register by emailing [email protected] or by calling Katara’s Education Team at +97444080233, +97444080235 or +97444081357.
