DOHA: College of the North Atlantic–Qatar (CNA-Q) has been given international approvals for health, safety and environment studies.
The college gas been approved to embed the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) International Diploma (IDIP) into their two-year, full-time OHS Diploma.
“So that upon graduating, our students will not only receive a CNA-Q parchment, but also the NEBOSH International Diploma. From an educational standpoint, this will make our graduates some of the most qualified HSE professionals in the country,” said Dr Ken McLeod, CNA-Q President, speaking at the first meeting of Qatar Section of American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), yesterday.
NEBOSH is a UK-based independent examination board delivering vocational qualifications in health, safety and environmental practice and management.
For HSE professionals already in the workforce, CAN-Q has been approved to offer the NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) through our Department of Corporate Training and Continuing Education. This fulfils the college’s mandate of providing for the technical training needs of new entrants to the sector as well as those already working in the sector.
“We are confident that this will be a major step toward improving the standard of quality of the safety industry’s certification in Qatar. Our qualified instructors will deliver training in our state-of-the-art facilities and examinations will be conducted in our accredited International Testing Centre,” said Dr McLeod.
