Bhavan’s Public School inaugurated the second season of its vegetable garden at its Matar Qadeem campus. About 16 varieties of seeds were planted.

The season was opened by Poly Varghese, musical and theatre personality and exponent of Hindustani and South Indian classical music in Mohanveena, a stringed Indian classical musical instrument. Guest of Honour Harald Moras, Head of D Bank, Green Banking, Doha Bank, spoke on the occasion. Students from grade VI to VIII were divided into four groups and given plants. The second season is the continuity of the first Eco School Project Vegetable Garden.

In his address to the students, Varghese highlighted the importance of tone, pitch, etc while communicating and called on them to respect their parents and take care of them in their old age.

He also stressed the importance of music in life and effects of Indian classical music.

This was followed by an interactive session. Dr G Manulal, Principal, welcomed the gathering and spoke on the relation between music and nature. Manikantan, Vice President of the school, delivered the presidential address, saying that such functions would surely help create awareness among students.
