Doha, Qatar: Qatar University (QU) Alumni Association have inaugurated its new headquarters on the university campus. A high-level meeting marked the inauguration ceremony and the unveiling of the association’s ambitious programs for the 2023–2024 academic year.

The launch of the new headquarters was held in the presence of the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, H E Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser Al Thani, President of QU, Dr. Omar Al Ansari, and members of the Alumni Association’s Board of Directors.

This event provided an opportunity for the Board of Directors to discuss the strategies and recommendations proposed by the association’s key sectors, including the Chapters Committee, Marketing Committee, Career Development Committee, and Financial Committee.

In his statement on this occasion, Sheikh Dr. Faleh emphasized the importance of allocating a permanent headquarter within the university for the Association. This step brings together thousands of male and female graduates from QU, who, despite their different graduating classes and majors, all share the common bond of belonging to the institution. He praised the role played by QU in the comprehensive development of the country since its establishment in the seventies of the last century until today.

Meanwhile, Dr. Al Ansari congratulated the Alumni Association on the opening of its permanent headquarters, highlighting the crucial role the association plays in connecting graduates. He also appreciated the various events, training courses, and diverse services provided by the association to QU graduates.

Executive Director of the QU Alumni Association, Mohammed Saeed Al Mohannadi, emphasised that the new headquarters will significantly enhance the association’s capacity to fulfill its mission of supporting the university’s plans. He added that it will contribute to realising its vision to strengthen the ties and communication among its graduates who are making significant contributions to the country’s development from various positions.

Manager of the Alumni Relations Office, Buthaina Ibrahim Lanaqwi said, “The association had been working on this step for years, and now it has become a noticeable reality within the university’s infrastructure.” She expressed her gratitude for the support of the Board of Directors and QU, which has enabled the Alumni Association to expand its presence both nationally and internationally, facilitating continuous communication with graduates in different locations to strengthen their connection with the university.”

The new headquarters signals the association’s commitment to fostering stronger ties within its network and with the broader community. The new building will serve as a hub for alumni activities, professional development, and collaborative efforts, fostering the growth and impact of the association.
