Commercial Bank, the leading digital bank in Qatar participated in ‘DEAP Qatar’ initiative to keep Qatar’s beaches clean.
The Doha Environmental Actions Project referred to as “DEAP Qatar”, is a non-profitable organisation based in Qatar and operates towards the aim of keeping the safety and cleanliness of the beaches and deserts in Qatar.
Several governmental and private organisations have collaborated and joined forces with them in the effort to keep and maintain the country’s natural resources.
Being one of the leading banks in Qatar, and as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility and Go Green sustainable initiative, the Commercial Bank has organised a cleaning day for Mesaieed area, where 30 employees have registered to be part of this amasing project.
The event took place on October 27 where the employees gathered and engaged in a full cleaning sweep for the Singing Sand Dunes in Mesaieed area in a great demonstration of teamwork. Antonio Gamez Munoz, EGM and Chief Risk Officer and Chairman of the Sustainability Committee at Commercial Bank has expressed his delight saying: “Go Green is an initiative that we have undertaken in line with our strategy of sustainability to educate ourselves and the community about caring for the environment. Cleaning up beaches has a remarkable impact on preserving our environment and it shows a great example of Commercial Bank’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility in the community of Qatar. As a leading bank, we are obligated to take the best and most effective measures to protect our environment for the future generations”.
With this initiative, Commercial Bank continues to hold its leadership position as one of the main contributors to the sustainable future of Qatar.
