Doha: In an effort to portray the cultural ties and showcase the blend of rich heritage between India and Qatar, MES Indian School, in collaboration with RAN Public School, Rudrapur India, recently conducted virtual International English and Hindi Debate Competitions as part of the Foreign Exchange Programme.
Senior Vice President, M.E.S. Governing Board, K Abdul Karim, Director of Academics, MES Governing Board KP Abdul Azeez, Director, RAN Governing Board Mohit Rai, Retd. Wing Commander, Chairman, RAN Public School HK Rai, Principal, MES Indian School Hameeda Kadar and Principal, RAN Public School Bhavana Bhanot were the chief guests and felicitated the contestants for their response and participation.

The panel of judges comprised eminent personalities from India and Qatar. The 12 participants of the debate spoke for and against the topic, ‘Social Media Has By and Large Befitted Human Life’ for the English debate and ‘The Significance of Gandhian Thoughts in Today’s Scenario’ for the Hindi debate.
Ishman Kaur of RAN Public School and Carolyn Johnly of MES Indian School were adjudged as the best speakers in the English debate. Harman Kaur Babbar and Somya Pasricha of RAN Public School won the first runners up position in their respective category. Jeswin Binu Chacko and Juveria Mohammad Nooru of MES Indian School won the Best Rebuttal speakers in the for and against categories, respectively.
Vedika Vilas Shinde of MES Indian School and Kashish Vasishtha of RAN Public School shared the best speaker position in the Hindi category. Shourya Aditya Ballabh of RAN finished as runner up. Presthi Pawar and NavyaGhai of RAN Public School emerged as best speaker and runner-up respectively for speaking in favour of the topic. Krish Gavaof RAN was adjudged the best rebuttal speaker against the topic category. Mahek Shaikh of MES Indian School secured the runner up position. Prabhleen Kaur of RAN Public School bagged the best rebuttal speaker in favor of the topic while Shakti Suresh Iyer and Sai Satish Nair of MES Indian School shared the best runner up position.
The winners and the participants were presented with certificates — the students of MES Indian School and RAN Public School also presented a cultural programme. A video presentation showed glimpses of India and Qatar. It also featured MES Indian School and RAN Public School.
