ANKARA: The Turkish Armed Forces hit 80 Islamic State targets in northern Syria as part of Operation Euphrates Shield, the army said Wednesday.
Three opposition fighters were also martyred and four others injured during Tuesday's clashes.
Islamic State seized control of some regions in the southern part of Akhtarin. Clashes between Islamic State terrorists and opposition fighters continue.
Operation Euphrates Shield was launched in late August to clear Syria's northern border area of terrorists. Wednesday marks the 71st day of the operation.
In total, 33 mines and 1,379 improvised explosives have been defused since the start of the operation.
